Due to various laws we have to have a Junior Consent Form filled in and signed by a
parent/guardian.
Please bring this with you for your first training
session!
This also applies for matches on a sunday morning- we can't play
a junior without this consent! This consent also grants springfield's
permission to publish photographs [and ONLY photos!] on this website- if you do
not wish this to happen please state this somewhere on the form! (and email
nikkiemcdade@springfieldshc.org.uk)
No individual contact/personal
information will ever be listed without consent.
We currently have the following teams playing in various leagues and tournaments:
* 2 X Under 13 (U13) 7-a-side teams
* 1 X Under 15 (U15) 11-a-side
teams.
And an U16 team is formed for the various tournaments and games
required over the course of the season.
For more information on these teams
(players, photos, games- fixtures and times etc):

Please bring shin pads and gum shield to all junior sessions. Footwear should be suitable for an astroturf pitch (trainers are fine to start with.) We have plenty of sticks which you can borrow.
The session does not operate in bad weather. i.e. persistent rain or freezing conditions. To avoid unnecessary travel, a notice will be posted before 8:30am on all Saturday mornings. Please be aware that the wonderful, ever-changing, british weather means that a bright sunny morning at 8am can still result in rainfall at 9:30am- so make sure waterproofs, warm layers etc are taken regardless of the report you see here, just in case!

If your son/daughter is 13 or over (by January 2008) and would like to be considered for Club hockey (they'll begin in the Springfields UCLAN Mens 3rds or Ladies 5th team) please let one of the youth team organisers know- their names and details are at the top of this page. They're also available to talk to at the various training sessions themselves, but please come well before or wait until after the session has ended to avoid impeeding on the pitch training time. Alternatively contact Chris Hills- justcallmehillsy@btinternet.com- (Mens 3rds manager) or Fiona Prescott- fiona.prescott@ecb.co.uk- (Ladies 5th team captain) directly and let him/her know of your child's availability. If you child becomes a regular player, the Tuesday training fee will no longer apply- a match fee will become payable per game instead.
New EHA rules state that from the season 2007/8 onwards: players under
13 years old by a 1st January 2008 CAN'T play club hockey (still in talks about
going up to U14- review on hold until 2009/10 season). This will mean a new
11-a-side league will be formed for these youngsters to play in and against
each other. Springfield's UCLAN will form at least one Under 13 XI team-
further details about this team can be found on Juniors pages. Check out the
England
Hockey website for more information on this new rule, rather unhelpfully,
not under the "LTAD" section but under the "NEWS" section MAY '07- download a
pdf of the england hockey statement HERE.
Watch this and the England
website for updates on this matter.
